Business as Usual
By: JackHawksmoor
Info: Adult, Kirk/Spock, 17930 words
Summary: Several days in the life of Kirk and Spock. Includes explosions, aliens, and sex.
Notes: This one isn't just beautifully characterized, it's also brilliantly plotted and constructed. So much happens in this fic, and ties together perfectly. Add to that the layers of connection tying the characters together, the pitch-perfect dialog, and the fact that this fic answers some difficult questions that certain moments in the third season always left me wondering about... and you get the picture.

FREELY GIVEN
By: Jenna Hilary Sinclair
Info: Adult, Kirk/Spock, 23169 words
Summary: Kirk and Spock go to a planet where a kiss is acceptable between men.
Notes: One of the best TOS fics I've ever read. Vivid, engaging, and with a beautifully gradual pace to set the tone of the story. Watching Spock figure out what he and Jim are to each other is incredibly satisfying.

The Law of Averages
By: UKJess
Info: Adult, Kirk/Spock, 354 words (angst)
Summary: Kirk meets a no-win situation.
Notes: Beautifully written and absolutely heartbreaking. It probably wouldn't hurt so much if it didn't feel so completely real, but this is one of those fics that just rings so true it leaves you aching. Absolutely gorgeous.

Summary: After years of refusing the bond, Spock’s death causes Kirk to realize what he had been asking of his lover. Pre- and post- "The Wrath of Khan".
Notes: Lovely and touching. Kirk's voice is beautifully, selfishly human and wonderfully aware.

Rumour Has It
By: Dana Austin Marsh
Info: Adult, Kirk/Spock, 12603 words
Summary: Kirk and Spock decide to use the rumor that they are lovers to discourage crewmembers from making a play for either of them.
Notes: Brilliant romantic comedy with spot-on, brilliant handling of the entire crew. Hilarious and touching.

Sacrifices
By: CatalenaMara
Info: Unrated (adult), Kirk/Spock, 9663 words
Summary: Kirk finds out exactly what Spock remembers after the fal-tor-pan. "Missing scenes" in and a sequel to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Notes: This fic really hits you hard with how much has been lost, but the glimpse of Spock trying to put himself back together is sweet, satisfying and incredibly believable.
