So here's a weird coincidence (okay it's not really a coincidence shhh). Three of these four SF AU recs are sequels--or in one instance a prequel--to existing stories. One of them is a sequel to one of my own stories, so I can't remotely pretend to be unbiased, but it's an excellent piece of soul-wrenching angst and I'm including it anyway.

Notes: Fucking hell I adore this. There's just so much affection and snark, so much comfort between the characters. It's so perfect.

Ten Things You Need to Know

Notes: Washington's grief is so palpable in this it makes my entire soul ache. An absolutely gorgeous piece pretty much guaranteed to rip your heart out.
